Hi,
New to beta testing for Microsoft. I downloaded and installed Vista Beta 2. Is microsoft going to update the builds by using Windows Update or do we have to download a new build and reinstall?
Thanks

Beta Builds and updates
No. MS is not releasing any more public builds except RC1.

I think Beta 2 may be the last build, but if there will be future builds most likely it will be how it always has been. Download the new build and reinstall.

So bugs will be fixed through updates I assume? And what is RC1 in relation to the final release?

RC1 means "Release Candidate 1." It will be put forth from on high as a probable finished product into a test base (that would be us) as a final check before boxing it up and selling it.

Depends on how many bugs show up in RC1. I doubt that MS will do an RC2 since it is not on their roadmap, but they have the option. The interim builds made available to TechBeta testers (and other preview programs) probably will not be made available to the public beta users.

I doubt MS will release any windows updates and if they do I'd be a little surprised since it's a beta OS.
They'll of course have internal builds. RC1 is release candidate 1. Kind of like if it works good then after that it could be released or they'd do an RC2 or whatever.
